Annie is a musician with wide-ranging interests and flexible abilities. She began her studies in music at age 6 learning classical piano. During high school she fostered her love for instrumental music by teaching herself guitar, drums, and bass. At age 17 she transitioned the focus of her studies to guitar, auditioning for a Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz/Commercial Performance at Towson University. Her experience in the Jazz Studies Program at Towson helped to shape her into a musician who seeks to constantly improve and learn more. Her primary guitar teachers include renowned DC guitarists Anthony Pirog and John Lee. She has been a part of a diverse array of ensembles at Towson including Latin jazz, classical guitar, free-improvisation, and most notably the Towson Jazz Orchestra. She plans to graduate from Towson in the spring of 2019.

Her performance experience covers much ground: she plays bass in numerous projects including rock/metal group Queen Wolf and jazz/Balkan Swing group Orchester Praževica. She composes and performs her own guitar compositions in the Baltimore area and collaborates on several jazz-guitar duos. She is regularly involved in the Baltimore theater scene, playing guitar in numerous musical productions such as Mamma Mia, The Wiz, and Pippin. She also performs internationally as the guitarist for 80’s pop icon Andy Bell of the synth-pop duo Erasure.

Annie enjoys teaching guitar and piano to young musicians, focusing not only the fundamentals of playing an instrument, but also on expanding their musicianship capabilities on an individual basis. She strives to help her students foster a love for listening to, playing, and understanding music.
