Christie Macdonald fell in love with guitar when she was 9 years old and has pursued the instrument ever since.  A recent graduate of Towson University, she has studied under some of the very best in the area including Anthony Pirog, Dr. Shawn Purcell, and Troy King.

While obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in Guitar Performance, Christie enjoyed playing in a number of orchestras and small groups--most notably the Classical Guitar Ensemble and the Towson Improvisational Ensemble.

After studying at the university, Christie went on to form two Baltimore groups of her own that are very different in nature.  She can be heard playing silky smooth arpeggios in her jazz/folk duo Liberata, and then intricate distorted riffs and overdriven chords in her metal band Queen Wolf.

Over the past two years, Christie has become increasingly involved in Baltimore's growing theatre scene.  She has played in the pit for the Everyman Theatre, Spotlighter's Theatre and the Vagabond Theatre, just to name a few.

The enthusiasm Christie brings to each lesson and her wide array of experiences helps her inspire her students to become better players.  She is excited to teach students how to become better musicians regardless of age, experience level, or musical preference here at The Music Space.
