Kyra is a singer, songwriter, musician and teacher who attended UMBC for music education, piano, and percussion performance. Over the years she has gained the skills to teach piano, voice, guitar, drums and trumpet. Kyra also has a wide range of performance experience including symphony orchestras, gospel choirs, rock and jazz bands, percussion ensembles, acapella groups and musical theater productions.
In addition to teaching, she is currently in Hi Tom Ensemble, a percussion ensemble, Kyra O’Donnell Jazz Quartet, and her band, Tilt Controls. She enjoys working with all ages and teaching jazz, rock, pop, or whatever else may interest the student. Her teaching style involves meeting the student at their level and collaborating to reach their goals.
